This condition, also known as undescended testicles, occurs when the testicles don\'t descend into the scrotum. This can be evident at twelve weeks of age. Fertility, is affected when a dog is diagnosed with this condition. Since this is a genetic trait, it would not be recommended to breed this dog. Because of this condition, there is an increased chance of cancer within the retained testicle(s) and neutering is strongly recommended. The surgery to remove the retained testicle is more complicated than a routine neutering.
