This disease can be brought on by bacteria, stress, and parasites. It is an inflamation of the colon. Some breeds, especially Boxers are more susceptible to this illness. Symptoms can be sometimes undetectable to severe, including, excess mucus, blood in the feces, vomiting, pain while defecating, and abnormal defecation such as constipation and diarrhea. The veterinarian will treat with antibiotic in an attempt to control bacterial causes and inflamation. Steroids are also sometimes prescribed for treatment of this illness.
