Illinois Considers New Requirements For Pet Dealers

The Illinois legislature is considering enacting a puppy lemon law that would mandate a pet warranty on every dog and cat sold by a pet dealer in the state. A committee hearing on the bill is set for March 13th. The proposed legislation will mandate a warranty on illnesses attributable to the pet retailer for 14 days and a warranty on congenital or hereditary conditions for one full year.
