This page is for pet owners who have purchased a pet that is covered by a warranty administered by PAWS. It provides basic answers to the most common questions about coverage and submitting a claim under your warranty for processing by PAWS.

What is the "Wellness Check-Up"?

The "Wellness Check-Up" is a routine examination of your pet by a licensed Veterinarian to ensure your pet is healthy. You must take you new pet to the vet within THREE (3) days of the date of purchase or delivery as a condition of the warranty.

Do I have to pay for the "Wellness Check-Up"?

YES. The initial exam is paid by you, however treatment or services for any illnesses covered under the terms and conditions of the warranty will be reimbursed should a claim arise.

I have a claim. How do I submit it for Reimbursement?

Filing a claim is easy! Just make sure you follow these steps:

  1. Simply visit a licensed veterinarian.
  2. Pay for the visit at the time of service.
  3. Gather up the following documents:
    • A copy of your Animal Limited Warranty completed and signed;
    • All veterinary documents, including diagnosis of illness and an itemized statement of treatment and costs; and
    • If your animal was shipped, a copy of the health guarantee.
  4. Send all of your documents to us.

Is this pet insurance?

NO. This is not pet insurance. This is a Limited Animal Warranty Program and only covers illnesses attributed to the Retailer, Congenital or Hereditary. If you would like routine and other treatments and services not covered by this warranty service, you should consult your vet or Retailer about pet insurance.

These items are NOT covered under this Animal Limited Warranty, regardless of whether the illness or disease is attributable to the Breeder, Hereditary or Congenital.
** Must be diagnosed within the incubation period.

What are Routine Procedures?

Routine procedures are treatment and services by a veterinarian which are routine in the care and healthy maintenance of the animal. This includes recommended vaccinations such as Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, etc.

My Pet has Giardia, Coccidia, Kennel Cough, Upper Respiratory Cold or Pneumonia. Does my warranty cover this?

YES. In most circumstances these illnesses surface within 14 days of taking the pet home. Your warranty covers this so long as it is diagnosed within the incubation period. These illnesses surface during the first 14 days, except for Parvo which has an incubation period of 10 days.

Does my warranty cover any Dental, Cancer, Vitamins, Grooming, Cosmetic Surgery, Accidents or Trauma?

NO. This warranty only covers illnesses diagnosed as contagious or infectious, or congenital or hereditary.
